You know I have to Graham all the credit for this wonderful weekend in New York City. He researched the hotel, the restaurants, the location of the church, what to do, the show, etc.
AND he did us proud! The hotel was a little boutique hotel called ‘On the Ave’ and he got a top floor balcony and it was so cute! One of the first things you noticed when you walked in was the smell of fresh flowers *heavenly*
Anyway, we had a slow start on the Friday morning. Reading and taking our time getting going. As any parent knows this is something to be savored! Anyway, we then took a walk around central park and had a blast. It was on my ‘to do’ list as Birkenhead Park and San Francisco Park had both been modeled on Central Park. it was very cool and the highlight had to be stumbling across a group who was singing and a wedding party having their pictures taken. We stopped and chilled out and took it all in. it was wonderful. And like a good English couple we made sure we sat on a bench and had an ice cream together too.
The NYC triathlon was the weekend we were there too 🙂
We headed back to the hotel as we were sweating like pigs (so romantic I know!) and had a shower and then headed to dinner and to see ‘Phantom of the Opera’. We walked through Times Square to get there and can I just say ‘wow, wow, wow!’ Times Square was so cool and ‘Phantom’ we both agreed was the best show that either of us had seen by far!
Also totally cool thing at dinner – 3 guys at the table next to us were show producers. I am sure if we were better clued up we would have know who they were but it was fun to listen to them talk about different shows, who was in them or who they were trying to get to be in them!
Anyway, wonderful day!
