Social Conscience

Gordon Moyes, “A born-again Christian without a social conscience is irrelevant.”

I’d like to throw this thought out there and see what you think…the more you travel the greater your social conscience. Thoughts?!

One Response to Social Conscience

I absolutely love this quote for many reasons, but the primary reason is that I think it flows with exactly what Christ intended in the Great Commission. The Great Commission (Make Disciples) was never supposed to be separate from the Greatest Commandments (Love God & Neighbor). Christ wanted the gospel to be proclaimed verbally AND he wanted it to be shown. If we chop off the part of the Great Commission that says “teaching you to obey all that I have commanded you” (Matt 28:20) then we aren’t really fulfilling it at all. Oh and I definitely think your social conscience expands as you travel, it can’t not, because as you travel those places (and far more importantly the people) become a part of you and your heart.
