Eat, Pray, Love

We watched ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ a couple weeks ag and can I just say I LOVE LOVE LOVE this movie.

My only regret is that I didn’t read the book first 😦

Brief summary of the movie Elizabeth leaves a great life to find herself by travelling the world (I know that is a very brief summary, but it will do for my point.)

The way she embraced the cultures that she was in to try to better herself is a great way to live. One of my favorite things was when she was talking about what Italy taught her….

‘….the ability to practice l’arte di non fare niente. This is an Italian expression which translates as the art of doing nothing. Ah, dolce far niente! It is also known as the sweetness of doing nothing.’

ahhhhhh, Italians do it so well! Then again so does a lot of Western Mainland Europe. America has so much to learn in this area, so does England for that matter.

We are so busy doing we forget to stop and be.

Anyway, remember no matter where you are living to take the best things about that culture and embrace it. There maybe things you don’t like or things that bother you. But try to find the good it’ll make living there more pleasant experience.
